Hi there! My name is Debbie and welcome to my little blog, The Misguided Millennial where my goal is to share my experiences on everything from travel to fashion to trying to succeed as an adult. I am not an expert on anything and my goal is to always be real and honest with you all. If you want to stay up to date, subscribe by e-mail in the sidebar, and follow my Twitter and Pinterest accounts for even more information on traveling the world as a millennial.
Who Am I?
Well, my name is Debbie and I am your typical 20-something millennial Florida Girl. I live in a small town on the east coast of Florida, but I am moving to NYC this July! My love of traveling stems from my desire to escape small town America and see the world. In May 2015, I graduated from the University of Florida after studying Biology and Anthropology. While an undergrad, I traveled extensively, studying abroad on 3 unique programs, visiting a friend in Spain one Thanksgiving, attending the London Olympics with my college Marching Band, and visiting various cities around the US and even frigid Montreal with my competitive Model UN team.
It was these opportunities that lead me to flee the US after graduation in search of an adventure abroad, hence my decision to attend grad school abroad, which you can read more about here. I enjoy reading, music, learning about obscure diseases, traveling (obviously), and a good debate about nearly anything. I currently travel every chance I get to see new places and meet up with old friends. In my real-adult life, I work in education and try my best to balance work, traveling, and being marginally healthy. I travel as much as I can and I am hoping my move to NYC is going to allow me to do even more travelling in the near future.
The Misguided Millennial
I want this blog to act as a collection of tips I have learned in my travels that I hope will help you all. Before I started working full-time, I spent a few years wandering around after graduation because I wanted time to travel. There is nothing like the feeling of finding the perfect cafe with a view of the Eiffel Tower. Or stumbling upon a hidden museum about your favorite author in Moscow. And nothing beats finally seeing the UN headquarters after years of studying UN. These are my motivations for traveling and I hope this blog can motivate others to have equally amazing experiences. I hope you all enjoy!
