FabFitFun Summer 2018 Box: A Review

FabFitFun Summer 2018 Box: A Review

Today, let’s talk about one of the staples of Millennial life: Subscription Boxes. I have tried my fair share of them over the years and they all have their pros and cons. Up until I tried FabFitFun last fall(meaning fall 2016), I NEVER stuck with a box for more than 6 months. Usually, I would get bored with them but after a year and a half, I am still in love with my FabFitFun subscription! I love it so much that today I am sharing with you all my summer box and if you decide you love it too, you can sign up through my link and get $10 off your first box!

What is FabFitFun?

FabFitFun is a quarterly subscription box which means they send you a box every three months. They theme the boxes for the season they send them, so there is a fall, winter, spring and summer box. Some people prefer to get a box every month, but I actually love that I only get them 4 times a year. It means I’m not overwhelmed with a bunch of tiny sample every month! And about what comes in the box: it’s all full-sized products! No more of those tiny 2 oz samples! Now what kind of things come in the box? Well it’s a mishmash of stuff like makeup, skin care products, and assorted items like bags, towels, and fitness products! It’s hands down the best subscription box I have ever tried and I love it! The best part is that you get all of these high-end products for less than $50 per box! It is even less than that with the annual subscription!

What came in my Summer Box?

My summer box this year may be my favorite box I have received thus far! As an Annual member(meaning I paid for the full year up front), I was able to have a choice about some of the items I received which is actually really nice! So without further ado, here are the items I received:

Tarte Tarteist PRO Glow Highlight And Contour Palette

This is the item in my box that I was most excited about! I am obsessed with highlighters because it’s basically adult glitter and I didn’t have a go to bronzer before this palette so it was the perfect addition to my ever-growing makeup collection. The palette includes 2 bronzers(a matte one and a cream one) and 4 different highlighters. All of the colors are super rich and high quality and I’m so glad I got it. I may have to add this one to my makeup must-haves for traveling!

Summer and Rose Beach Towel

Nothing says summertime quite like lounging on your beach towel. I actually had to retire my favorite beach towel last summer so I was really excited about this item! Since I am a select member, I actually got to choose between this and a makeup bag and that was really convenient for me! I need another makeup bag like I need a hole in my head so I chose the towel and I can’t wait to try it out on the beach!

Foreo LUNA fofo

As much as I try to take care of my skin, I have a pretty lazy routine. I wash my face daily and moisturize, but I always feel like I should be doing more. I was super excited to try the Foreo LUNA fofo because it is supposed to help remove blemishes. So far I love how it makes my face feel super clean and refreshed! You can also sync it via bluetooth to an app on your phone and the app will tell you different things about your skin. It can give you insights into if you need a better moisturizer or if your skin is oily and more! This may be one of the coolest things I have received from FabFitFun!

Orlando Pita Play Atmos-shield Hair Protectant

I am terrible about remembering to use a heat protectant when I style my hair. Usually, I use it for a while but when the bottle runs out I forget to replace it. I actually just ran out of my most recent bottle about a week before getting my box! Luckily I received the Orlando Pita Play Atmos-shield hair protectant! I love how smooth it makes my hair feel and how it protects it against damage when I heat style it.

Jaboneria Marianella Hawaiian Black Lava Caviar

I love adding extra small things to my routine as a way of treating myself. Usually I treat myself with facemasks, but a good body scrub is also nice! I have primarily used coffee scrubs and sugar scrubs in the past, so this one was a bit different but I love it so far! It leaves my skin feeling clean and refreshed and I love how it smells!

Minor History Post Script Wallet

I am always in the market for new wallets and this one is the perfect small wallet! It fits just a few cards which makes it perfect for fitting in a small purse for a night out.I love the salmon and rose gold color of it. It even has a small wrist strap so I don’t necessarily need to even carry a purse! I am really excited to use this wallet throughout the rest of summer!

Pier 1 Imports Marble Ring Dish

I have just recently started wearing jewelry more frequently and I often just take it off and leave it on my dresser at the end of the day. As a rather messy person, I am excited to have this ring dish because it will give my jewelry a designated resting place. I tend to wear the same pieces all the time so this dish is perfect for keeping those pieces accessible. I also love the marble look of it and think it really matches my style.

Coola Face Sport SPF 50 White Tea Moisturizer

I am a very pale person so sunscreen is something I always use when I am going to be outside for an extended amount of time. However, I am terrible at incorporating an SPF into my daily skin care routine. I have been following the great tips of my friend Logan over at Signed, Logan on how to incorporate more steps into my skin care routine and adding this Coola SPF 50 Moisturizer is one of those steps!

Box Add-ons

So in addition to getting a choice in which products come in my box, being a “select” or annual member means that I can also choose to add additional items to my box for a fraction of the price they would usually cost. Sometimes the add-on options include items from past boxes as well! This time around I chose to add the RealHer Do Your Squats eyeshadow palette, a Summer & Rose Roundie beach blanket, the GLAMGLOW Youthmud mask, some Blaq Hydrogel undereye masks, and the Hadron Epoch Undated Weekly Planner. For all of those add ons I paid less than $60 which is much less than if I tried to buy them myself! I haven’t had the chance to try all of them yet but I’m pretty happy with them so far!

Final Thoughts on my Summer Box

This box has been one of the best I have received in the almost 2 years I have had my subscription with FabFitFun. I can see exactly how each item will be used in my daily life which normally isn’t true of subscription boxes. FabFitFun gives you just enough control over your box that it fits your wants and needs while still give you some surprises in each box! I really love this subscription and definitely encourage others to give it a try! You can even get $10 off your first box by signing up through this link! The overall value for my box was over $325 dollars(not including add-ons) and I paid less than $50 for it! FabFitFun is an amazing deal and I highly recommend it!

From one Misguided Millennial to the world, this has been my review of the Summer 2018 FabFitFun Box!
